A doll after my own heart... a lady of lounge wear. Miss Rose Peach Blossom standing at 27 inches tall she's almost a giant amongst the other girls

Dressed in her lounge wear she'll feel l=quite at home sitting on your bed or a pretty shelf somewhere!

She wears a light 1930s green cotton pyjamas bottoms with a 1930s rayon novelty print of people dancing top. .which has lovely billowy sleeves . black felt slippers with a little bow sewn down at the front of each shoes. All lovingly hand sewn by my fair hands. She finally wears 1940s millinery blossoms in hair.

I must first say Happy New Year and apologise for my absence this last month or so. I had intended to write on January the 1st and wish all a marvellous new year ( I do indeed have very fine hopes for this one... I can feel it in my bones! Plus it'll also be my 30th year! Oh lordy) but I ended up getting sidetracked and one thing led to another.
December came and went quickity-flash and left me pretty exhausted from it all. How I really do wish I had worker mice like miss Tina from Tobyboo has said many a time, I'd pay them a handsome wage and they could all live in my dollhouse which actually hasn't got any residents at the moment, it could all work out so nicely. Ahh well, some day.

My fellow and I decided to change around our little humble abode at the beginning of the month (homes are just like jigsaw puzzles...every now and then something comes in or goes out and one has to have a rearrange) but it was to give us both a bit more of a working environment (he plays the double bass and quite frankly could do with more space) so we decided to give all the rooms in our wee flat the upturn... I shall document this with photographs to give you all an insight into my working life! Perhaps I'm just nosey, but I personally find it so interesting to see where fellows call home and what inspires them in their everyday life.

I also had a commission from a lovely couple to make a Lady in the Moon doll which I delivered to them last week..let me introduce - Ava Stargazer

I forgot to take other photos of her sitting in her moon... I'm terrible I know. She wore a stunning silver thread lace dress (what once was a 1930s cape...it had died a death) with flowing blue ribbon straps each with a beaded star sewn to to the bottom and matching beaded star crown. She certainly looked the shooting star!

Another new little lady (who I finished just today) is - Little Viola 

A smaller and younger doll than the others...standing just 14 inches tall.
It's quite lovely to work on a smaller doll, I shall be revisiting this pattern with others very soon.
In fact there's rather a lot of new fellows in the pipeline, so do watch this space!

And Valentine's Day around the corner, my favourite celebration of them all! New pieces are being sewn as we speak!

Vintage 1950s Roses Audrey Rag / Cloth DollI've collected a vast collection of pretty 1950s cotton prints that seemed to never see the light of day... and being Inspired by my grandma this week (tis her birthday on the 17th, we share the same birthday) I thought I'd make a collection of 1950s girlies with big printed circle skirts for little girls (and big) to play with...They'd make great tea party friends!

Following on from the primary girl pattern that I made..I bring to you Elsbeth the little cowgirl! I'm in the process of sewing other delightful little ones...so do watch this space!

Clara and the Moon

At long last I've finally finished Clara Moonbeam! She's was the first doll I made in these limbs and then ended up getting put on the back burner, we could never actually work out on what to wear..I think in total there was about 5 outfits made till I came to the idea that this was the one and it would actually stay put.

Clara wears an off cream 1930s rayon tassels for her dress, with 1920s satin ribbon straps..a oh so sweet hand embroidered and pom pom antique trim. So fabulous for dancing. She also has a matching antique lace underwear set underneath (however you will only ever see glimpses of these as her dress is sewn on to her body).

Her shoes are black silk velvet and black suede leather soles, and each have a little cream pearl. Her seamed stockings are indeed old 1950s ones which never seemed to suit my own shade. 

Clara's headdress is made up of old 1920s millinery flowers and I've chosen a creamy green straw trim..   I adore this lady, and find her to be a right character.
